The calculator uses your device's local timezone by default. If you were born in a different timezone (or if you're computing age for legal purposes tied to a specific jurisdiction), factor in the offset — a birth registered at 11:30 PM local time might count as the next day in a different timezone. For most everyday uses this doesn't matter, but for legal age boundaries (18th birthday for voting, 21st for certain licenses) it occasionally does. A few edge cases the tool handles correctly. Leap-day (29 February) birthdays don't have an anniversary in non-leap years, so the tool follows the common convention of counting the anniversary as 28 February or 1 March depending on user preference (default: 1 March, consistent with most Indian government usage). Very short intervals (target date on the same day as DOB) return zero years, zero months, zero days as expected, not a rounding error.
